How the ATS integration works

Connect Capstone to your applicant tracking system of choice.

Connect Capstone to your applicant tracking system of choice, such as Greenhouse or Ashby. A recruiter picks a Capstone assessment inside their ATS. The ATS asks Capstone to send it to the candidate. When the candidate finishes, the score, a link to the full report and the certificate appear on the candidate's profile in the ATS.

Partner beta

The Greenhouse and Ashby endpoints are in partner beta and not yet open to all customers.

Setup, once per customer

The customer's workspace owner connects Greenhouse or Ashby in the Capstone employer dashboard.
Capstone issues a partner key (capats_greenhouse_… or capats_ashby_…) and shows it once.
The customer pastes the key into their ATS's assessment partner settings for Capstone.
Ashby only: the customer also gives Capstone an Ashby API key with the candidatesWrite permission, so Capstone can report progress through Ashby's assessment.update. Greenhouse needs nothing more.

Partner URLs are the same for every customer and are registered with each ATS once. The ATS tells Capstone which customer a call is for by sending that customer's partner key.

What the ATS can order

The customer's own published Capstone assessments, sorted by name. Drafts and other companies' assessments never appear.

The flow

  1. A recruiter picks a Capstone assessment in their ATS.
  2. The ATS calls send_test (Greenhouse) or assessment.start (Ashby).
  3. Capstone emails the candidate a private link.
  4. The candidate opens it and works through the simulation. Ashby is told the assessment has started.
  5. Capstone grades the run.
  6. Capstone tells the ATS results are ready. Greenhouse then calls test_status; Ashby receives the result directly.
  7. The recruiter sees the score, report link and certificate on the candidate's profile.
